Taste the Process – Black Tea Tasting Toronto

$44.00

Rescheduled to Saturday, August 22, 2020.

All the information about a tea can be learned through careful tasting. This includes the tea’s process. As a matter of fact, process is the biggest contributor to what we taste in the tea.

In this tasting session, we use black tea to illustrate how processing differences affect the taste of the tea. Black tea is an acquaintance to many tea lovers and though it is the most familiar tea to us, it’s often shunned as a low-end, beginner tea. The art of making a great black tea is often overlooked. Let’s dispense with the black tea stigma and let the palate talk, while we advance our understanding and link key processing points with our tasting notes!

6 teas, 3 flights of side-by-side tastings include:

  • small leaf varietal (Sinensis) flight,
  • big leaf varietal (Assamica) flight,
  • ultimate flight – same cultivar, terroir, and producer – only the process differs.
